
Sara (Boisen) Schwertfeger is a registered & licensed dietitian.
Sara (Boisen) Schwertfeger is a registered dietitian and nutrition consultant currently living in Urbandale, IA yet servicing clients from all over the Midwest. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree and Dietetic Internship from Iowa State University. Clinical nutrition training was through Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA and community nutrition with WIC and the ISU Athletic Department. In June 2009 she earned a Certificate in Adult Weight Management through the American Dietetic Association.
Sara was a successful and recognized runner for Iowa State University Track & Field team. While competing she was a NCAA regional and national qualifier as well as a leader for the team. She was recognized with the Bernie Saggau Award presented to the athlete who best exemplifies religious and moral convictions. Sara continues her success running triathlons and marathons including the 114th Boston and recently completing the NYC Marathon, 2011.
Sara is currently involved with the Big Brother Big Sister program in Des Moines. She has previously done mission work in Guatemala and continues to find new ways to help those in need.
Sara is a USAT&F level 1 certified coach and will soon be joining the Dowling girls track team as a hurdle coach.
